Fayetteville, NC — The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating an overnight incident that resulted in the death of one man following a reported sharp-object injury early Sunday morning, January 11, 2026.
Officers responded at approximately 3:54 a.m. to the Circle K gas station located at the intersection of Cliffdale Road and Rim Road. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male in the parking lot suffering from a sharp-object wound.
The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Forensic investigators and patrol officers remained on scene for several hours as the investigation continued. The gas station and surrounding area were secured with crime scene tape, and the store remained closed into the early morning hours.
At this time, police have not released information regarding a potential suspect. The investigation remains active.
