Fayetteville, NC — A significant law enforcement presence was observed early this morning near the Royal Inn off Gillespie Street close to Oak Street in Fayetteville. The incident occurred before sunrise and prompted a response from multiple emergency units.

At the scene, a FedEx double-trailer tractor-trailer was parked along the roadway while investigators concentrated their efforts near the front of the vehicle and the surrounding area. An ambulance and several patrol vehicles were also present as the scene was secured.

Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol appeared to be leading the investigation and managing traffic in the area while evidence was assessed.

According to unofficial witness accounts, a pedestrian may have been struck in an incident involving the FedEx truck. Authorities have not yet confirmed the circumstances of what occurred or released information regarding the condition of the pedestrian.

If confirmed, this would be the second pedestrian-related incident reported along Gillespie Street in recent weeks, raising continued concerns about safety in the corridor.

At this time, no official statement has been released by authorities. The information currently available is based on witness observations, and the investigation remains active. Updates will be provided as confirmed details are released by officials.
