FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Firefighters continued working late into the morning after a large structural fire heavily damaged a storage facility along Ramsey Street in north Fayetteville, forcing extended road closures and drawing a multi-agency emergency response.

The fire occurred at the former Fayetteville Moving & Storage facility, located next to Wiener Works and near several businesses along Ramsey Street. Officials said the fire began roughly 12 hours before sunrise and continued to smolder into the late morning hours.
As of approximately 12:30 p.m., Ramsey Street remained closed between Law Road, near the CVS and Jiffy Lube area, and Longview Drive, across from Wiener Works and Domino’s Pizza. Fayetteville police maintained roadblocks while fire crews continued operations at the scene.
According to officials and visual evidence from the site, the building appears to be a total loss. Flames were seen rolling across the roofline during the height of the fire, making suppression efforts particularly challenging. Firefighters reported battling gusty wind conditions as flames estimated to reach more than 15 feet twisted and spread across the structure.

Multiple Fayetteville Fire Department engines and ladder trucks responded from across the city. Crews attacked the fire both from above and at ground level, focusing on containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to nearby businesses.
Heavy black smoke from the fire was visible for miles across parts of Fayetteville throughout the morning and early afternoon. The scale of the fire drew attention from surrounding businesses and motorists in the area as emergency lights filled Ramsey Street.
Officials have not released information regarding injuries, and no cause of the fire has been confirmed. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not provided a timeline for reopening the affected portion of Ramsey Street.
