FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning following a house party on Graystone Drive.
Officers responded at approximately 1:27 a.m. to reports of shots fired in the 1500 block of Graystone Drive. Upon arrival, officers and emergency medical personnel located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the victim later died from his injuries. He has been identified as Harryson Anderson, 18, of Spring Lake. His family has been notified.
According to investigators, a house party was taking place at the residence when an altercation occurred. During the incident, shots were fired, resulting in Anderson being struck.
Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Officials are urging anyone who attended the gathering to come forward with information that may assist in the case.
