Robeson County, NC — A serious crash on Interstate 95 southbound near Exit 13 (I-74), just south of Lumberton, resulted in one fatality and another person injured after a vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer.
Authorities report that a Honda failed to slow down and struck the rear of a tractor-trailer, becoming lodged underneath the trailer upon impact. The collision led to a fire involving both the passenger vehicle and the trailer, causing extensive damage at the scene.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second individual was transported to a medical facility with serious injuries. The identities of those involved have not been released.
Multiple emergency crews responded, including fire units, emergency medical services, and law enforcement. Responders worked to extinguish the fire, assist victims, and manage the crash site.
Traffic in the southbound lanes of I-95 was brought to a standstill during the response, with significant delays reported in the area as crews worked to clear the roadway.
