Arrest Made in Heather Williams Case

Fayetteville, NC — The Fayetteville Police Department has announced an arrest in the tragic case of Heather Williams, a 25-year-old woman who was reported missing earlier this month and later found deceased.

Arrest Details

Tyrell Siermons, 30, a Fayetteville resident, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to Heather’s death. He was arrested on Thursday, January 16, 2025, by the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit, with assistance from the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT). Siermons is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.

Case Backstory

Heather Williams was reported missing on Saturday, January 4, 2025, after she was last seen on Berkshire Road near Owen Drive and Raeford Road at approximately 9:57 p.m. Witnesses reported her entering a light-colored sedan with a sunroof. Her phone activity ceased shortly after midnight, leading concerned family members to report her missing.

Heather was considered endangered due to cognitive impairment and limited speech, which made her particularly vulnerable in unfamiliar or unsafe situations. Her disappearance prompted a statewide missing and endangered alert.

On Friday, January 10, 2025, Heather’s body was discovered in a wooded area near Newark Avenue and State Avenue, off Murchison Road.
