Fayetteville, NC — The individual involved in the January 17 accident has been identified as Tanasia Harris, affectionately known by many as “Taay Boog.”
Tanasia was a student at Westover High School in Fayetteville, where she played center on the basketball team and stood 5 feet 10 inches tall. She was widely remembered for her strength, loyalty, and the genuine care she showed to those around her. Whether on the court or in everyday life, her presence left a lasting impression on friends, teammates, and classmates.
The tragic incident occurred early Saturday morning, January 17, near the Royal Inn on Gillespie Street, close to Oak Street. A FedEx double-trailer truck was involved, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene. The investigation extended from the early morning hours into after sunrise. At this time, officials have not released additional findings.
Tanasia’s passing has deeply affected the Fayetteville community. Friends, family members, former classmates, and community members continue to share memories, photos, and heartfelt tributes in her honor.
