CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC — A married couple with military ties has been booked in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Cumberland County, according to court records and law enforcement officials.

Investigators identified the primary suspect as Miguel Angel Cruznieves, a retired U.S. Army service member with ties to Fort Bragg. Cruznieves is facing multiple charges, including second-degree forcible rape, incest, and misdemeanor sexual battery.

Authorities also charged Amanda Lea Cruz, who is married to Cruznieves and associated with Fort Bragg, with felony accessory after the fact. Court records indicate that Amanda Cruz is the mother of the victim in the case.

Both individuals were booked in Cumberland County, and the case remains under active investigation. Law enforcement has not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged offenses, citing the sensitive nature of the case.

Police are encouraging anyone who believes they may have been affected by the individuals involved, including those with information related to past incidents, to come forward. Investigators noted that information from prior encounters may still be relevant to the ongoing case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1530.
