Fayetteville, NC — The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed the booking of Carla Robinson, 49, of Garland, North Carolina, on January 8, 2026. Authorities report that Robinson bonded out and was released after three days in custody.
The arrest follows several weeks of community reports and coordinated investigations involving property taken from porches, mailboxes, vehicles, and residences across both Sampson and Cumberland counties. Law enforcement officials indicate that the incidents affected multiple communities and prompted a joint response due to the cross-county nature of the alleged activity.
According to investigators, reports and video evidence linked the suspected thefts to several locations, including Garland, Salemburg, Clinton, Dunn, and Fayetteville. The pattern of activity showed repeated incidents across different jurisdictions, impacting residents in more than one county.
Court records reflect multiple pending cases connected to the investigation. Sampson County currently lists six pending cases, while Cumberland County lists three, bringing the total to nine pending cases across two counties. A $30,000 unsecured bond has been associated with the charges.
Officials confirm the investigation remains active and is continuing under court supervision. A hearing in Cumberland County is scheduled for January 26, followed by a probable cause hearing set for March 13 in Sampson County. During these proceedings, a judge will review the evidence presented and determine how the cases will move forward into the next phase of court review.
Updates will be shared as additional information becomes available through official court records and law enforcement releases.
