Fayetteville, NC — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search at a residence on Brandy Lane in the 28306 area of Fayetteville on January 20, 2026, at approximately 10:50 a.m.
During the search, deputies took John Brandon Ransom into custody. Authorities report that Ransom is facing a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon and was also served with outstanding papers related to a stolen vehicle case.
Ransom was booked into the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Cumberland County.
