Fayetteville, NC – The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Saturday night in Breezy Hill Mobile Home Park, located off Honeycutt Road. Authorities have confirmed that the incident was not a random act of violence and are actively pursuing leads.
Shooting Reported on Pebble Street
At approximately 9:55 p.m. on March 8, 2025, deputies were dispatched to 307 Pebble Street following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators blocked off Pebble Street and Messenger Street with crime scene tape for several hours as they collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.

Victim Identified as Laquarius Devontanious Dove
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office later identified the victim as 28-year-old Laquarius Devontanious Dove of Fayetteville, NC. Officials confirmed that his next of kin has been notified.
Homicide Investigation Ongoing
