Fayetteville, NC — Around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, Fayetteville police responded to reports of an altercation on Aspen Court, located in the Chestnut Hills subdivision near Ed Hill Road and the Skibo Road area. The incident left one person fatally injured and another hospitalized.

Incident Details

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found one individual deceased from knife wounds. Another person involved in the altercation sustained injuries and was escorted by police to Cape Fear Valley Hospital for treatment. Authorities believe the dispute between the two individuals escalated into violence, resulting in the tragic outcome.

Investigation Status

Police have not yet released the identities of those involved or provided details about the circumstances leading to the altercation. The investigation remains active, with additional updates expected as detectives work to piece together the events of the evening.
