FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — February 25, 2026 — A pedestrian was struck Wednesday along McArthur Road near the Interstate 295 interchange in north Fayetteville, prompting a temporary roadway closure as authorities investigated the scene.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred on the southbound side of McArthur Road in the corridor between the I-295 junction and the Tiffany Pines and College Lakes Plaza area. Law enforcement officers responded and shut down traffic near the southbound ramp connecting I-295 to McArthur Road.
The closure extended through the stretch between the interstate junction and the Stacey Weaver Drive and Rosehill Road area while police secured the scene and redirected vehicles. Traffic was halted for a period as emergency responders worked in the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel transported the injured pedestrian for treatment. As of publication, officials have not released information regarding the individual’s condition or the circumstances that led to the collision.
