CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC — Road conditions across Cumberland County are improving following winter weather impacts, though lingering hazards remain in some areas, particularly on bridges and elevated roadways.


Current Road Conditions

The following roadways are reported as mostly clear, with isolated slick spots noted where specified:

• I-295 — Mostly clear; bridges still slick in spots
• I-95 — Mostly clear; bridges near exits remain icy
• NC 87 — Mostly clear; caution advised on bridges
• US 301 — Mostly clear; MLK Boulevard bridge remains icy
• NC 210 (Spring Lake to Overhills area) — Mostly clear; bridge shoulders slushy
• All American Freeway — Mostly clear; bridges reported slick
• Bragg Boulevard — Mostly clear
• Ramsey Street — Mostly clear; Andrews Road to US-401 reported clear
• Skibo Road — Mostly clear
• Morganton Road — Mostly clear
• Raeford Road — Mostly clear
• Cliffdale Road — Mostly clear
• Rim Road — Mostly clear
• Hope Mills Road — Mostly clear
• Gillis Hill Road — Mostly clear
• Pamalee Drive — Mostly clear
• Owen Drive — Mostly clear
• Cumberland Road — Mostly clear
• Ireland Drive — Mostly clear
• Village Drive — Mostly clear
• Chicken Foot Road — Mostly clear to US-301
• Lake Upchurch Road — Mostly clear to I-295
• Grays Creek Main Street — Mostly clear; drying
• Cedar Creek Road / Tabor Church Road — Mostly clear; access to I-95 reported clear
• McArthur Road — Mostly clear; wet from ice melt
• Downtown Fayetteville — Mostly clear
• Spring Lake — Mostly clear


Important Information

• Main roads across Cumberland County appear mostly clear
• Secondary roads, neighborhoods, driveways, hills, and cul-de-sacs may still be slick or icy


Additional Hazards

• Bridges and overpasses remain the greatest concern
• Black ice reported on the MLK Boulevard bridge and select freeway bridges
• Ice falling from trees, power lines, and vehicles
• Some residents report difficulty leaving homes or navigating porches
• Refreezing expected tonight as temperatures drop
