Fayetteville, NC — Early Monday morning, January 6, 2025, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a larceny near Mac Williams Middle School and Cape Fear High School on Clinton Road.
What Happened?
At approximately 5:15 a.m., deputies arrived to find an alarming scene. A female suspect allegedly broke into a school bus and stole another person’s purse and keys. A male accomplice was reportedly waiting nearby in a car. The situation escalated as good Samaritans intervened to help protect bus drivers and prevent the suspects from fleeing. School bus delays in the area may have been related to this incident.
Arrests Made
- Katherine Elizabeth Alvitre (23, Fayetteville):
- Charges: Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, Larceny, Possession of Stolen Goods, and Conspiracy.
- Bond: Held on a $10,000 secured bond.
- Baxter Worth Paschal IV (22, Fayetteville):
- Charges: Conspiracy.
- Bond: Held on a $5,000 secured bond.
Both suspects were transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center. Their first court appearance is scheduled for January 7 at 2:30 p.m.
