Cold weather conditions across Cumberland County and surrounding areas have led several school districts, colleges, and private schools to announce delays, closures, and schedule adjustments for Thursday, February 5, 2026. The information below reflects confirmed updates as of 8:05 p.m., with additional changes possible overnight.

Public School Districts

Cumberland County Schools
Operating on a two-hour delay. Students will report two hours later than normal, and all bus routes will also be delayed by two hours.

Hoke County Schools
Operating on a two-hour delay. Elementary schools will begin at 9:45 a.m., while middle and high schools will begin at 10:30 a.m. Staff will report on a one-hour delay.

Harnett County Schools
Operating on a two-hour delay for both students and staff.

Bladen County Schools
Operating on a two-hour delay.

Lee County Schools
Operating on a two-hour delay.

Moore County Schools
Operating on a two-hour delay, with bus pickup and school start times delayed by two hours.

Scotland County Schools
Operating on a two-hour delay.

Richmond County Schools
Operating on a two-hour delay.

Columbus County Schools
Operating on a two-hour delay.

Sampson County Schools
Closed. Students will participate in remote learning. All athletic activities are canceled. Staff will report on a two-hour delay or may use leave.

Robeson County Schools
Open and operating on a regular schedule.

Fort Bragg DoDEA Schools
Open with normal operations.

Clinton City Schools
Status to be announced.


Colleges and Universities

Fayetteville State University
Open with normal operations.

Methodist University
Open and operating on a regular schedule.

Robeson Community College
Open with a regular schedule.

Sampson Community College
Delayed, with campus opening at 10:00 a.m.

Sandhills Community College
Delayed, with all locations opening at 10:00 a.m.

University of North Carolina at Pembroke
Open with a normal schedule.

Fayetteville Technical Community College
Open with a normal schedule.

Miller-Motte College
Open with a normal schedule.


Charter and Private Schools

Alpha Academy
Two-hour delay.

Anderson Creek Academy Charter
Two-hour delay.

Cornerstone Christian Academy
Two-hour delay.

Fayetteville Academy
Two-hour delay.

Capital Encore Academy
Two-hour delay.

Northwood Temple Academy
Two-hour delay.

Liberty Christian Academy
Two-hour delay. Doors open at 9:45 a.m. School begins at 10:15 a.m. Beforecare will not be available.

Riverside Christian Academy
Two-hour delay.

Village Christian Academy
Two-hour delay.

Genesis Christian School and Learning Academy
Two-hour delay.

Trinity Christian School
Two-hour delay. Childcare opens at 8:00 a.m. School begins at 10:00 a.m.

Berean Baptist Academy
Status to be announced.

First Impressions Academy
Status to be announced.

Freedom Christian Academy
Status to be announced.

Saint Patrick Catholic School
Status to be announced.
