SPRING LAKE, N.C. — The Town of Spring Lake announced a public forum scheduled for March 3, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Spring Lake Town Hall to discuss the proposed closure of Manchester Elementary School.

The forum is centered around a community discussion titled “Save Our School,” focusing on concerns from residents and families about the potential closing of Manchester Elementary.

According to the public notice issued by the Town, several members of the Spring Lake Board of Commissioners may attend the forum. North Carolina law requires municipalities to issue public notice when a majority of elected officials could be present at the same gathering.

Town officials stated that no official action is expected to be taken and no Town business is planned for discussion during the forum. The notice was issued to comply with North Carolina open meetings law.

The event is open to the public, allowing residents to attend, learn more about the proposed closure, and share concerns with community leaders and neighbors.
