FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A local nonprofit has launched a winter donation drive to provide essential clothing and supplies to unhoused individuals and families struggling during the cold season. The initiative, titled “Covering Those in Need,” is being organized by Serving Hope and aims to address the challenges faced by vulnerable populations as temperatures drop.

Donation Guidelines

Donations are being accepted daily at 1627 Bingham Drive in Fayetteville. Items can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at a designated outdoor collection site.

Requested items include:

  • Coats
  • Blankets
  • Hoodies
  • Gloves
  • Toboggans
  • Shoes and socks
  • New underwear

The nonprofit has emphasized the importance of community support, noting that donated items will be distributed to individuals experiencing homelessness as well as others in need of assistance.

How to Support the Initiative

In addition to physical donations, financial contributions are being accepted to help further the effort. Donations can be sent via CashApp to $SHOPETRISHA. Those interested in volunteering or contributing in other ways can contact the organizers directly at 910-257-6131.

Seasonal Challenges for Vulnerable Populations

With freezing temperatures becoming more frequent in the region, the need for warm clothing and blankets is especially urgent. Efforts such as this drive provide critical resources to those who may not have access to adequate shelter or winter clothing.

The “Covering Those in Need” campaign will remain active throughout the winter, with continued calls for support to ensure no one is left without protection during the harshest months of the year.
