Fayetteville Police Investigate N. Sumac Circle Shooting That Left Two Dead, Two Injured

Fayetteville, NC — Fayetteville Police are investigating a fatal incident that left two people dead and two others critically injured Sunday night in the 5000 block of North Sumac Circle, off Hope Mills Road.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 9:35 p.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, officers and emergency medical personnel located four adults at the scene.

Police reported that one adult male and two adult females were suffering from injuries caused by shots fired. A second adult male was also found with injuries believed to have been caused by a sharp object.

One adult male and one adult female were pronounced deceased at the scene. A second adult female with injuries from shots fired and an adult male with possible sharp-object injuries were transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department Homicide Unit have assumed the investigation.

The investigation remains active. No suspect information has been released at this time. Authorities say additional details will be provided as they become available through official sources.
